Fiji Embassy Promotion of Fiji Wins Praise
Fiji Embassy Washington successful promotion of Fiji at the recently concluded Pacific Night won high praise from organizers of this major Washington Pacific Cultural event.
Fiji Embassy Washington participated successfully in the popular Pacific Night programme at the National Geographic Society Headquarters in Washington DC. Pacific Night, the annual diplomatic event hosted by the diplomatic representatives of Pacific nations in the US together with the State of Hawaii and American Samoa and other US Trust Territories provides US public and private sector representatives, an opportunity to learn about Pacific people, culture and the region. Pacific Night 2008 was attended by 800-900 people.
Fiji Water provided complimentary water for the event and Air Pacific provided two complimentary return tickets Los Angeles – Nadi as prizes for the evening. The Embassy provided traditional dancers and singers and Fiji cuisine as part of the entertainment for the evening
Complimenting the Fiji Embassy’s performance Martha Ross Bureau Chief, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, US Congress and Co-chair of the Pacific Night said:.
“Embassy of the Republic of the Fiji Islands fully and actively joined with planning and hosting Pacific Night 2009. Embassy of the Republic of the Fiji Islands assisted with securing 2 Pacific Night sponsors… Also, the Fiji Serenaders were an excellent addition to the cultural performances, Everyone enjoys the Fiji dancers, arranged by the Embassy. They contribute a great deal to the fun and excitement of the evening. Dishes provided by the Embassy added to the varied and plentiful Pacific cuisine offered at the buffet table. The display table arranged by the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji Islands, was always surrounded by …others from the Pacific community, along with music and friendly conversation.”
