Vatulele Island Resort Becomes a Six Senses Resort & Spa

Six Senses Resorts & Spas has taken over as the operator of the iconic boutique resort – Vatulele Island Resort – located on the spectacular Fijian island of the same name. Open since 1990, Vatulele is comprised of 19 accommodations, including 17 beach villas (or bures), the Grand Bure and The Point, the latter of which represent the premier accommodations with private pools and dedicated staff. The resort has commenced a significant property upgrade, which will culminate in the re-launch of Vatulele in late 2008. Six Senses is a resort and spa management and development company, established in 1995, which manages resorts under the brand names Soneva, Six Senses Hideaway, Six Senses Latitudes, and Evason; plus Six Senses Spas and Six Senses Destination Spas.

A variety of facilities and services consistent with the Six Senses brand are being introduced to this iconic property. In order to avoid disturbing the guest experience, the resort will be temporarily closed though April-27, 2008, during which time the resort team will completely renovate the kitchen; extend, remodel and integrate the kitchen and main dining buressus to facilitate all-weather dining; install a display buffet for local seafood and produce; further develop the resort’s organic garden; install private pools and outdoor bathrooms to all bures; and construct a new Six Senses Spa, which may reopen later in the spring/summer.
