Embassy Opposes Trademark Registration

Fiji Embassy Washington is opposing a trade mark application with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) by Kohinoor Grocery Ltd of Surrey British Columbia registering the mark “Fiji Ocean” as their trade-mark for canned fish.

The product which is not a product of Fiji is clearly marked as a product of Chile. The product is sold in a number of well established grocery chains in British Columbia.
